【摘要】:p>Transparentplasticmaterials,whenusedaswindowsorenclosures,aresubjecttowipingandcleaning;hencethemaintenanceofopticalqualityofamaterialafterabrasionisimportant.Itisthepurposeofthistestmethodtoprovideameansofestimatingtheresistanceofsuchmaterialstothistypeanddegreeofabrasion.Althoughthistestmethoddoesnotprovidefundamentaldata,itissuitableforgradingmaterialsrelativetothistypeofabrasioninamannerwhichcorrelateswithservice.Comparisonofinterlaboratorydataorthespecificationofax201C;hazex201D;valuehasnosignificanceifthehazemeterrequirementsgivenin5.4arenotused.ThisisbecauselightdiffusedfromthesurfaceofaTabertrackisscatteredatanarrowangle(Fig.1andFig.2)whilelightdiffusedinternallybyaspecimenisscatteredatawideangle.Inmanyhazemeters,whenadiaphragmisinsertedtolimitthelightbeamtothewidthoftheabradedtrack,thespecularbeamattheexitportbecomessmaller.Thedarkannuluswillthenbegreaterthanthe0.023x00B1;0.002rad(1.3x00B1;0.1x00B0;)requirementsofTestMethodD1003.Sincealargepercentageofthenarrow-angleforward-scatteredlightwillnotimpingeonthespherewall,x201C;hazex201D;readingsbecomesmaller.Forhazemetersthathavenotbeenproperlyadjusted,themagnitudeofthisreductionisdependentbothontheintegratingspherediameterandthereductionoftheentrancebeam.Formanymaterials,theremaybeaspecificationthatrequirestheuseofthistestmethod,butwithsomeproceduralmodificationsthattakeprecedencewhenadheringtothespecification.Therefore,itisadvisabletorefertothatmaterialspecificationbeforeusingthistestmethod.Table1ofClassificationSystemD4000liststheASTMmaterialsstandardsthatcurrentlyexist.Forsomematerials,abrasiontestsutilizingtheTaberabrasermaybesubjecttovariationduetochangesintheabrasivecharacteristicsofthewheelduringtesting.Dependingonabradanttypeandtestspecimen,thewheelsurfacemaychange(thatis,becomeclogged)duetothepickupofcoatingorothermaterialsfromtestspecimensandmustbecleanedatfrequentintervals.Thetypeofmaterialbeingtestedandthenumberoftestcyclesbeingrunisknowntosometimesinfluencethetemperatureoftherunningsurfaceofthewheelwithanaffectonthefinalhazemeasurement.Toreduceanyvariabilityduetothistemperatureeffect,stabilizethewheelssurfacetemperaturepriortoperformingactualmeasurements.ThisshallbeaccomplishedbyconductingmultiplerefacingsonanST-11refacingstone,followedbyatestonthesamplematerialtobetested(withresultstobediscarded).1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforestimatingtheresistanceoftransparentplasticstoonekindofsurfaceabrasionbymeasuringthechangeinopticalproperties.1.2AbrasivedamageisvisuallyjudgedandnumericallyquantifiedbythedifferenceinhazepercentageinaccordancewithTestMethodD1003betweenanabradedandunabradedspecimen.1.3CS-10FwheelsmanufacturedbetweenOctober2002andSeptember2004havebeenfoundtogivedifferentresultsthanhistoricalvalues.Comparisonsofdatausingthesewheelsshouldbemadewithcaution.ResultsusingwheelsmadeafterSeptember2004haveagreedwiththoseobtainedbeforeOctober2002.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.......
