【摘要】:Thistestmethod(PartA)utilizesFTIRspectroscopytodeterminethepercentRefrigerant-114impurityinuraniumhexafluoride.Refrigerant-114isanexampleofanimpuritygasinuraniumhexafluoride.Thedetectionofhydrocarbons,chlorocarbons,andpartiallyorcompletelysubstitutedhalohydrocarbonsinUF6(PartB)isgovernedbytheprovisionsinSpecificationC996.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminingtheconcentrationsofrefrigerant-114,othercarbon-containingandfluorine-containingcompounds,hydrocarbons,andpartiallyorcompletelysubstitutedhalohydrocarbonsthatmaybeimpuritiesinuraniumhexafluoride.Thetwooptionsareoutlinedforthistestmethod.TheyaredesignatedasPartAandPartB.1.1.1ToprovideinstructionsforperformingFourier-TransformInfrared(FTIR)spectroscopicanalysisforthepossiblepresenceofRefrigerant-114impurityinagaseoussampleofuraniumhexafluoride,collectedina"2S"containerorequivalentatroomtemperature.TheallgasprocedureappliestotheanalysisofpossibleRefrigerant-114impurityinuraniumhexafluoride,andtothegasmanifoldsystemusedforFTIRapplications.Thepressureandtemperaturesmustbecontrolledtomaintainagaseoussample.Theconcentrationunitsareinmolepercent.ThisisPartA.1.2PartBinvolvesahighpressureliquidsampleofuraniumhexafluoride.Thismethodcanbeappliedtothelimitsofdetectionforhydrocarbons,chlorocarbons,andpartiallyorcompletelysubstitutedhalohydrocarbonsasspecifiedinMethodC996.Thelimitsofdetectionareinunitsofmolepercentconcentration.1.3PartApertainstoSections7-10andPartBpertainstosections12-16.1.4Thesetestoptionsareapplicabletothedeterminationofhydrocarbons,chlorocarbons,andpartiallyorcompletelysubstitutedhalohydrocarbonscontainedasimpuritiesinuraniumhexafluoride(UF6).Gasessuchascarbontetrafluoride(CF4),whichabsorbinfraredradiationinaregionwhereuraniumhexafluoridealsoabsorbsinfraredradiation,cannotbeanalyzedviathesemethodsduetospectraloverlap/interference.1.5Thesetestoptionsarequantitativeandapplicableintheconcentrationrangesfrom0.0001to0.100molepercent,dependingontheanalyte.1.6Thesetestmethodscanalsobeusedforthedeterminationofnon-metallicfluoridessuchassilicontetrafluoride(SiF4),phosphoruspentafluoride(PF5),borontrifluoride(BF3),andhydrofluoricacid(HF),plusmetal-containingfluoridessuchasmolybdenumhexafluoride(MoF6).Theavailabiltyofhighqualitystandardsforthesegasesisnecessaryforquantitativeanalysis.1.7Thesemethodscanbeextendedtoothercarbon-containingandinorganicgasesaslongas:1.7.1Therearenotanyspectralinterferencesfromuraniumhexafluoride''sinfraredabsorbances.1.7.2Thereshallbeaknowncalibrationorknown"K"(value[s])fortheseothergases.1.8ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
