【摘要】:Thiscodeofpracticeprovidesrecommendationsfortheplanning,design,installation,commissioningandmaintenanceofemergencyvoicecommunicationsystemsinandaroundbuildingsandatsports,entertainmentandsimilarvenues.Itdoesnotrecommendwhetherornotanemergencyvoicecommunicationsystemshouldbeinstalledinagivenpremises.Henceforwardinthiscodeofpractice,emergencyvoicecommunicationsystemsareusuallyreferredtoasEVCsystemsandthetermEVCisusedtomeanemergencyvoicecommunication.ThiscodeofpracticeprimarilyrelatestotheuseofEVCinassistingbothfirefightersandthoseresponsibleforevacuatingbuildingsorsportsstadiainfireemergencysituations,includingevacuationofdisabledpersons.Use,otherthaninfireemergencysituations,bydisabledpersonsandothers,althoughnotprecluded,isnotaddressedindetail.Otherthaninexceptionalcircumstances,EVCsystemsarenotintendedasthemeansofraisingafirealarm,inlieuofmanualcallpoints.ReferenceshouldbemadetoBS5839-1forguidanceonfiredetectionandalarmsystems.Inthecontextofthiscodeofpractice,anEVCsystemcontainsnoportableparts.Mobiletelephonesandtwo-wayradiosetsarethereforenotwithinitsscope.AnEVCsystemshouldbe:1)restrictedtoabuilding,buildingcomplexorsportsorsimilarvenue;2)continuouslymonitoredforfaults;3)foruseasdescribedinthispartofBS5839.Thetermemergencyvoicecommunicationsystemsisthereforenotintendedtocovergeneral-purposeintercomsystems,liftintercomsystems,local(internal)telephonesystemsforgeneraluse,oranyexternalcommunicationsystems,suchasthepublicswitchedtelephonenetwork.Voicealarmsystemsareprimarilyintendedfortheautomaticbroadcastingofevacuationmessages;theyarecoveredbyBS5839-8andarethereforeexcludedfromthiscodeofpractice.ThispartofBS5839doesnotcoversystemscombiningelectricallythefunctionsofEVCsystemswithfunctionsofotherfire-relatedornon-fire-relatedsystems.Thatis,forexample,anEVCmasterstationmaymechanicallysharepartofitsenclosurewiththecontrolandindicatingequipmentofafirealarmsystem,butrecommendationsforsharingasinglemains-derivedextralowvoltagepowersupplyarenotwithinthescopeofthisstandard.RecommendationsforintegratedsystemsaregiveninBS7807.ThispartofBS5839appliesonlytoemergencyvoicecommunicationsystemsforuseinatemperateclimatesuchasthatoftheUnitedKingdom.
